It is the strongest fort of Goa and was built in 1609 - 1612 by Portuguese. It is located on a headland of the Mandovi River. Presently this fort is treated as Central Jail.

Mormugao Fort: Like Aguada Fort, Mormugao Fort is also very popular among tourists. Near Vasco Da Gama town, Mormugao Fort is located near the globally famous Mormugao Harbor.
